Causes of Bed Wetting
Bed wetting is a universal problem faced by parent of young children. It may be difficult for these small children to get up in the middle of the night for a visit to the toilet. The playing and physical activity during the day lays the foundation of sound sleep for the children. This sound sleep makes it all the more difficult for the child to get up and visit the toilet to empty his small bladder which gets more than full in the night. Things go out of hand and the bladder releases the urine in the bed without giving the child a chance to go to the toilet. The child wakes up in a soaked bed.
The main reasons for bed wetting can be summarized as below:
- In case the child is below eight years I age and is not frequently bed wetting then it is a simple problem of immature bladder control which gets cures as the child grows up. There is no standard of child bed wetting and a child cannot be adjudged as a problem unless the bed wetting reaches alarming proportions.
- Another major reason of bed wetting is emotional and psychological trauma which the child may have suffered some times back and the fear and anxiety arising out of this trauma is sufficient to become a bed wetting problem.
- The last thing which needs to be investigated by a medical practitioner is whether the child is having any kind of medical problems or conditions which is the reason of the frequent bed wetting.
Medical conditions require proper treatment however, in most cases the child can be trained to control his bladder. Unless in the condition bedwetting is a result of medical conditions, bed wetting slowly gets outgrown by the child and becomes history.
