Child Bed Wetting
Bed witting in children below six years of age is quite common and usually goes away with the growth of the child. It is more frequent in infants below 3 years and as the child grows it also reduced however there may be times when the child’s control over his bladder and urinary functions has not developed resulting in frequent bed wetting. Another main reason of frequent bed wetting is an under developed bladder which is either too small or it not properly controlled by the child.
Bed wetting is quite usual in infants and as they grow this dev=creases and vanishes over a period of time. The child has no control over bed wetting as such even if there is frequent bed wetting the child should not be scolded or punished for bed wetting. Rather the parents must strive at knowing the root causes for such bed wetting and try to help the child in overcoming the situation.
The child must be properly educated that this is not an abnormality just with him and with time it will go away. The child must be encouraged to take part in the work involved of changing bed sheets and clothes. This would help the child to overcome the problem mentally. The child should never be humiliated in front of his peers for bed wetting even jokingly.
Sometimes bed wetting occurs due to hereditary reasons and there is little the child can do about it. Children whose parents have suffered from bed wetting are prone to the menace of bed wetting also. The phenomena of bed wetting are directly connected to the anti-diuretic type hormone and if this hormone is not produced properly by the body the result is bed wetting. The hormone is responsible for controlling the urinary functions and the bladder. Proper development of bladder control is the only cure naturally available for this problem.
