Medication for Adult Bed Wetting
Adult bed wetting usually occurs due to a plethora of medical reasons and usually due to old age when the muscles controlling the bladder loose their grip and it simply goes out of control. Once it has been established that the bed wetting is due to a medical reason, the doctors prescribe medications for bladder control.
One of these medicines is the DDAVP and this medicine is quite effective in such a situation. It has been observed that people who have a lot of liquid intake in the evening usually land up in the toilet more often than the normal persons. This medication aims at reducing the urine produced by the body in the night. Usually persons who take sleeping pills develop this habit as they are not able to get up in the night for a visit to the toilet when the body demands it.
The DDAVP medication is useful in cases of adult bed wetting but does not cure the problem permanently. It is a temporary cure and usually the bed wetting restarts when the medication is stopped. DDAVP is not compulsory medicine in all cases of adult bed wetting and is usually prescribe das a temporary relief. The medication is available in spray forma as well as a pill form. Use the one which is convenient to you. However, the medicine has to be administered with some precautions like no consumption of water or any liquid after you have taken the medicine.
This medicine is not free from side effects and the most usual side effects observed are headache and nausea. Sometimes sinus and nosebleeds are also observed. Most doctors usually resist from prescribing medications for bed wetting in adults as most of these medicines are having multiple side effects and medicines are used as the last resort.
